I spent a week in April with the fine folks of CasaTinta as part of the Congreso International de Ilustration which takes place under the umbrella of the International Book Fair of Bogotá (FILBO)
I was able to visit with students at Santo Thomás University who also had a little exhibit of my work. I am grateful to the University for sponsoring my trip to Bogotá, Columbia.
Bogotá is city full of many layers and I was delighted to meet so many friends.
There was a three part workshop where I shared my puppet fabrication process 'The Farm Boy Way'. The participants were quick learners who didn't hesitate to try unconventional materials and techniques.
Special thanks to Diana Arias and Jose Rosero of CasaTinta who run a top notch program and also have created a space that is truly a hub of the illustration community in Bogotá.
I may have learned a little Salsa dancing but i probably won't be showing that off anytime soon.
